The brief
To cover the deputy editor role on Healthy magazine while the editor recruited a permanent team member – content included a monthly print magazine, website, social channels and advertorials. 

The challenge
I needed to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and influencers in a wide range of areas, from mental wellbeing and clean beauty to athleisure, nutrition and fitness, but happily got immersed in these topics.

The role
• Editing news and features 
 Ensuring tone of voice
• Commissioning freelance writers 
• Managing the in-house editorial team
• Generating feature ideas
• News and feature writing
• Reading all final proofs
• Managing contributor budgets
• Liaising across all departments to ensure the 
  smooth running of the magazine
Overseeing copywriting for advertorials
• Working with art and picture teams on 
  layouts and the look and feel of each issue
